On February 7, 2025, the Terrassa City Council organized the 2nd Infoday LIBECCIO at “El Vapor de Prodis” in Terrassa, as part of the Plenary session of the Tourism Working Group. The event aimed to create synergies between the administration and the city’s tourism businesses, while also inviting local entrepreneurs to join the Euro-MED Tourism Innovation Platform.
The event was chaired by the Deputy Mayor for City Projection and Councilor for Tourism, Joan Salvador, and was attended by around thirty representatives from various institutions, entities, and businesses in Terrassa. Participants included stakeholders from the tourism sector, as well a representation of civil society, economic entities, and supramunicipal organizations.
During the session, an overview of key tourism indicators from 2024 was presented, along with a review of ongoing initiatives, including participation in the European LIBECCIO project.
The Terrassa Chamber of Commerce, also partners in the LIBECCIO project, participated in the event and explained the objectives of the Euro-MED Tourism Innovation Platform (ETIP). They also outlined the steps to join and the commitment involved.
The event placed particular emphasis on sustainable and responsible tourism, with the goal of improving the competitiveness of the city’s tourism services and achieving a responsible tourism model based on environmental, economic, and sociocultural sustainability principles.
In the final part of the session, the Prodis organization presented their project “El Vapor de Prodis”, an example of Sustainable Tourism with social impact . Additionally, a guided tour of the facilities was offered, where attendees had the opportunity to explore the various spaces and learn about the history of the venue, led by individuals with diverse abilities who volunteer with the organization.
