It was a very intense 2-days event for Libeccio and for all the other projects of the Sustainable Tourism Mission of the Interreg EuroMED Programme, the one held in Tirana on the 1st and 2nd of October.
After the institutional opening of the host of the meeting, University of Tirana, all partners belonging to the Mission had the opportunity to present their projects, especially those recently approved, finding synergies and possible collaborations.
Also, the ICZM MSP Practices Handbook about integrated coastal zone management and maritime spatial planning processes for sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean was presented and a related capacity building workshop was held for all participants.
However, the event was first and foremost a great opportunity for all partners to further deepen the various challenges as identified by the thematic projects during the previous meeting in Rome, discussing about future dissemination processes and paving the way to the thematic papers that will be presented in June 2026, during the convention that will be organized by the Programme in Barcelona.
Last but not least, all participants were informed about how to populate the Interreg EuroMED Academy, so as to further disseminate the results of their projects and share useful learnings with any stakeholders interested in sustainable tourism, in the mediterranean area and beyond.
