Living Labs are a powerful response to this challenge. They create real-life spaces where public authorities, businesses, universities, citizens and all other tourism operators come together to co-create solutions, transforming data into shared strategies and concrete actions. Within this framework, Living Labs are not just pilot projects but integral parts of a wider ecosystem. The ETIP Platform will serve as the digital backbone for local Living Labs, enabling data collection, monitoring, and evaluation, while ensuring that local experiments can be shared, compared, and scaled across mediterranean destinations.
What makes Living Labs unique is their ability to connect people, data, and governance. With the support of the Destination Management Support System, every initiative will be monitored and evaluated, providing a solid basis for smarter, more targeted decisions.
The LIBECCIO partnership has developed a dedicated Methodology to activate Living Labs, guiding territories step by step: from engaging stakeholders, to testing solutions, to scaling up what works in other regions. This structured yet adaptable pathway ensures that innovation is both locally relevant and widely replicable.
