The first meeting within the Living Lab was held in East Sarajevo, representing one of the key activities of the LIBECCIO project, which focuses on improving digital tools and innovative approaches in tourism destination management. The meeting took place on Thursday, 13 November 2025, and marks the first of four planned events that will bring together different groups of locally identified stakeholders in the coming period.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Tourist Information Centers Pale, East Ilidža and Trnovo, as well as representatives of the City of East Sarajevo. This event marks the beginning of strengthened cooperation between public institutions and local actors in developing smart solutions aimed at improving the tourism sector in the pilot area of East Sarajevo.
Participants were introduced to the appearance and functionalities of the DMSS platform (Destination Management Support System), an advanced digital tool that will enable more effective planning, management, and promotion of tourism content, resources, and potentials.
During a constructive discussion, participants provided valuable feedback on the types of data and content that should be integrated into the platform to better respond to the needs of the local tourism sector. It was emphasized that, from the perspective of this stakeholder group, particularly important are data on the current tourism offer, including cycling and hiking maps, accommodation capacities, and other elements that contribute to more comprehensive monitoring, analysis, and presentation of tourism attractions and flows.
The organization of the first Living Lab meeting represents a significant step in strengthening cooperation among local institutions and introducing digital innovations into the tourism sector, in line with the objectives of the LIBECCIO project.
